When I came to Mystic Street and saw teenagers awake and ready for action, I thought today is going to be a good day. We started out with a few volunteers at each station. We scrubbed tires, washed the car, rinsed, dried, and even had volunteers recruiting cars down our street in the hot sun with big signs. It was amazing!!! Not only because we had so much fun but because a lot of people were really dedicated and got down and dirty to get the job done. Even though all the teenagers didn’t stick through until the end, we had God’s younger hands do an enormous amount of work towards the end, and let’s just say…those huge rims were really scrubbed by many little hands!! Overall, the car wash was an experience that will never be forgotten. We had people from church and others from around the neighborhood show their support in the construction of our new home and plenty of donations were made, along with the price charged for washing each car. I’m sure that God was with us that day smiling at every soul, as we were smiling, laughing, and playing with each other. We had a lot of fun and that fun paid off in the end. We raised over 250 dollars that I believe we are all excited about.
